At our house, the tree is decorated, the lights are up outside, everything that will sit still has garland draping it, Christmas music and movies are playing daily, and we are enjoying the traditions of the Christmas season. As I have seen on Facebook and in person, our West Metro churches are also decorated and we are ready to celebrate Christ’s birth through music and dramatic presentations. I’m sure that your church has choir cantatas, children’s plays and musicals, live nativities, or other exciting Christmas events planned in the coming weeks.
During this season, when our society also participates in Christmas traditions, we can expect guests to visit our Christmas events. As we present these programs, neighbors and friends will also expect us to invite them to come to experience these Christmas musicals and plays. So, with all of these potentials guests coming to our churches, many who may not have heard the Good News of the coming of Jesus, may I make a request? Please share the gospel! Use these events to invite people into relationship with the God who so loved the world that He gave His Only Son, the God who showed His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!
My prayer for you and yours is that you experience anew the wonder of Christ’s incarnation, and that you in turn share that Good News with the people God has placed in your mission field! May Jesus truly be exalted this Christmas in West Metro!
