Terry's Corner
Terry L. Braswell, Sr. Associational Missionary
In the midst of a political campaign there are
voices crying out with an urgent tone, Vote for me!
This political season has been in process for a long time now with still
a few months to go. With many there
is not urgency but a desire for relief from it all.
Yet the candidates are frantically working in the waning months to gather
support.
On Tuesday morning (February 26th)
as I was getting dressed I heard the rain come with great force.
As I listened to the news cast they were talking about the need to
evacuate in the event of a tornado or because of worsening storm conditions.
They talked about it with great urgency.
Just months ago there was much talk about the
lack of rain. People in the news
talked about it. Neighbors talked
about it. Companies talked about it.
So many talked about the lack of rain with great urgency.
Our Governor, Sonny Purdue, even held a prayer meeting at the Capitol
which shows the urgent need.
There are many things in our lives that we
ascribe some sort of urgent response.
I wonder though if we ever think about the spiritual urgency that is in
and around us. You will note that
the theme for our annual Annie Armstrong Easter offering is living with urgency.
The scriptures declare Now is the day of salvation.
As we move toward the time of celebrating Easter, let us be reminded that
we need to live, pray and give with urgency of the hour.
It is a matter of eternal life and death.
We are moving quickly to our Vacation Bible
School season. I appreciate Kathy
Roberts and Judy Foster for hosting our Annual Early Bird Clinic.
Be praying now for the upcoming Teachers and Workers Clinic (April 17 at
Mt. Harmony) and the Vacation Bible Schools to be held throughout the summer.
Over the next couple of months many of our
churches will be in a season of revival.
Please keep them in your prayers and support them with your attendance as
you have opportunity. Youll get a
blessing and be a blessing.
So many good and positive things are happening
in the West Metro Baptist Association.
Kathy and I enjoy meeting, celebrating and worshiping with our different
churches. Thank your for allowing us
to serve you.
